Off the top of my head, there’s Lee Jordan, Angelina Johnson, the other black Gryffindor kid whose name completely escapes me right now, and Blaise Zabini. Kingsley Shacklebolt is an alum. And then there are other wizards of color, like Cho Chang, the Parvati twins, etc. Race relations in the wizarding world are pretty great, really. EDIT: Dean Thomas is who I was thinking of, but other people also brought up Bem. Yeah, and I think they took care with the extras casting as well. When you look at all the background students, it’s a pretty diverse bunch. Plus this is a British school, and black citizens only make up about 2% of the UK population (as opposed to America’s 12.5%).

  10. londie said: I think you mean Bem? I think honestly the demographic at Hogwarts is a fairly accurate depiction of ethnicities in the UK. We also only usually see the kids in Harry’s year as well.
